Boston United coach Joe Simpson has unveiled his first cohort of under-23s players for the season ahead.

The most instantly recognisable face is 19-year-old striker Oliver Wilson, who made six first team appearances in 2023-2024 prior to a season-ending shoulder injury at Coalville Town in the Isuzu FA Trophy.

Wilson underwent surgery and extensive rehabilitation and is now fit and ready for the 2024-2025 campaign.

He will be joined by former Northampton Town midfielder Jacob Scott and ex-MK Dons attacker Ed Daffern (both 18) ā€“ and two Pilgrims' academy graduates.

Defender Ellis Perry-Burdett and midfielder Kris Zaluzinskis (both 19) have been rewarded for an impressive season in United's under-19s.

Scott is capable of playing at centre-half and right-back too and has three EFL Trophy appearances to his name at Northampton.

Daffern, most at home in an attacking midfield role, enjoyed a loan spell in senior football with Kempston Rovers last season.

Perry-Burdett and Zaluzinskis spent last season in United colours ā€“ following respective spells with Chesterfield and Lincoln City.

Further announcements on under-23s signings will follow during the summer.

Of the individuals recruited as under-23s players in the summer of 2023, Dylan Hill and Jake Lovelace have progressed to sign senior contracts for the campaign ahead.

Will Hall, Ryan Hand and Sam Essien have all been released ā€“ and depart with the club's best wishes for the future.
