Preview - Sunderland U21s

Craig Singleton4 Nov 2024 - 10:40

Martin Woods will take charge of his first match as Boston United interim manager on Tuesday evening.

The Pilgrims play host to Sunderland under-21s in their second Group C fixture of the National League Cup campaign.

United fielded a mixed team in the last match against Leeds United under-21s, which the visitors won 4-3, but Woods is expected to select a more established squad for the visit of the Black Cats as he seeks to build momentum ahead of Saturday's National League fixture against Dagenham and Redbridge.

It will be the Pilgrims' first match since the departure of management team Ian Culverhouse, Paul Bastock and Joe Simpson.

United and Sunderland enjoyed a fine relationship in the 2010s, with numerous players arriving at York Street on loan from the Stadium of Light.

Kick-off at the Jakemans Community Stadium is 7.30pm.

LIVE COVERAGE
The match will be shown live on National League TV.

Elsewhere, BBC Radio Lincolnshire full-match commentary, courtesy of Rob Makepeace and Craig Singleton, is available online.

Updates on X will be available via @bostonunited throughout the evening.
