Preview - Southend United

Craig Singleton14 Jan - 12:55

Boston United entertain Southend United on Wednesday evening in an enhanced coverage fixture on DAZN (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Pilgrims' battle to stay in the National League continues in midweek with the visit of Kevin Maher's Shrimpers, who were 2-0 victors over Boston at Roots Hall in August.

Much has changed personnel-wise for the Pilgrims since, none more so than the hosts now being managed by former Southend player and coach Graham Coughlan.

Coughlan could hand a start to on-loan Accrington Stanley striker Jimmy Knowles, who completed his return to the Jakemans Community Stadium on Tuesday.

The United manager will be without the services of injured trio Dan Adshead, Michael Bostwick and Mitch Roberts.

Southend's last visit to Boston unfolded in January 2005 – a 2-0 defeat at York Street with Andy Kirk on target twice for the hosts.

LIVE COVERAGE
The match will be shown live on DAZN.

Elsewhere, BBC Radio Lincolnshire full-match commentary, courtesy of Rob Makepeace and Michael Hortin, is available online.

Updates on X will be available via @bostonunited throughout the evening.
