Originally scheduled for the final Saturday before Christmas but postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, the match will now take place at the Crown Oil Arena, otherwise known as Spotland, on Tuesday.
Both sides come into the fixture buoyed by excellent results at the weekend – with United’s eye-catching 3-1 home win over York City being coupled with Dale’s 4-0 home thumping of Yeovil Town.
The Pilgrims will be chasing a fifth National League win overall – and a first away since beating Sutton United so comprehensively on September 7.
United boss Graham Coughlan has reported no new injury concerns, with Michael Bostwick, Mitch Roberts and Dan Adshead remaining sidelined.
United’s five Football League trips to Spotland yielded only one goal and one point – but they famously drew 0-0 there in the Emirates FA Cup campaign of 2019, when three divisions separated the sides.
