Preview - Banbury United

Craig Singleton12 Dec 2022 - 16:55

Boston United return to action at the Jakemans Community Stadium on Tuesday evening – aiming for a fifth consecutive home victory in the process.

The Pilgrims play host to Banbury United (kick-off 7.45pm) in their final National League North fixture before Christmas.

The match is currently scheduled to go ahead – despite the prolonged spell of cold weather. The pitch has been covered since Wednesday, barring a brief spell on Monday where it was uncovered, marked out and promptly re-covered, and the club will provide any necessary updates throughout the day on Tuesday.

United could hand a debut to Scunthorpe United loanee Harry Lewis – and potentially a full debut to on-loan Sheffield United defender Joe Starbuck. Jordan Burrow will be hoping for more involvement after cameos off the bench against Leamington and Spennymoor Town over recent days.

Banbury are currently just outside the play-off positions, having made a bright start to life in National League North following their Southern League title success last season.

The sides fought out a 0-0 draw at Station Approach in August, despite Luke Shiels’ red card for the Pilgrims.
