Boston United get 2022 under way on Sunday afternoon with a home fixture against Alfreton Town (kick-off 3.00pm).

The Pilgrims will be looking to get back to winning ways in National League North after successive home defeats to Kidderminster Harriers and Brackley Town.

United were without nine senior players for Tuesday's defeat to Brackley, but manager Craig Elliott is hopeful of having some of his absentees back for the visit of Billy Heath's Alfreton.

Luke Shiels, Tom Platt, Joe Leesley and Danny Elliott could all line-up against their former club - while ex-Pilgrims George Willis, James Jones, Yusifu Ceesay and Dayle Southwell lie in wait for United.

Alfreton are four points and five places behind the Pilgrims, having won four and lost five of their nine away fixtures to date.

The reverse fixture between the sides was postponed on Boxing Day due to a waterlogged pitch at the Impact Arena.
