"Boston United can confirm that the home fan who threw a can on to the pitch – following the scoring of a goal last Saturday against Kidderminster Harriers – has been identified via CCTV footage, and will now receive a banning order.
"The Police are also investigating the incident. The excellent CCTV system at the new stadium allows us to monitor closely all areas of the ground and take such actions as necessary.
"This action follows a banning order that was issued to another fan following a disturbance that took place inside and outside of Ellenders after the evening fixture against York City on October 26, which also resulted in the Police and an ambulance attending.
"The same individual had also entered the field of play at both home and away fixtures earlier in the season after goals had been scored.
"We want our fans to passionately support the team, but stay within the boundaries of decency, and of course within the Ground Regulations.
"We want to be a welcoming club for everyone, including families, but unfortunately a small minority overstep the mark at times which can spoil matchdays for others, and can then of course then take up a lot of time for the club’s staff and Police dealing with the aftermath.
"As always, we will take firm action against those not acting in a proper manner."
