The club have signed a new two-year deal with Sheffield-based Kitlocker.com — but the playing kit worn next season will be manufactured by Nike rather than current suppliers Errea.
Mark and Richard Jones modelled the new playing strips earlier in the week — with United set to wear a distinctive amber shirt with a diagonal black sash, accompanied by black shorts and amber socks, when the new season kicks off on August 6.
The Pilgrims’ away kit, meanwhile, is predominantly purple with ‘volt’ piping on the shirt, shorts and socks and hails from the company’s ‘Challenge’ range.
United have received a boost on the sponsorship front ahead of the new campaign, with shirt sponsors Drayton Motors, back-of-shirt sponsors Turnbull Building and Plumbing Supplies and shorts sponsors Goodacre Lettings all exercising renewal options in their respective deals to see their logos feature on the new Nike playing strips.
It brings to an end a six-year association with Italian manufacturers Errea, who succeeded Vandanel as the Pilgrims’ kit suppliers in 2010.
The new home and away kits will be on sale shortly, with Nike leisurewear set to arrive in the club shop at The Jakemans Stadium ahead of the big kick-off in August.
