United gunning for win over Altrincham

United gunning for win over Altrincham

Craig Singleton30 Nov 2012 - 14:35

Boston United and Altrincham renew their rivalry at The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 3.00pm).

The sides have already met in Lincolnshire this season — with Altrincham recording an FA Cup with Budweiser fourth qualifying round victory over the nine-man Pilgrims in October.

On that occasion, goals from James Lawrie, Jake Moult and Nicky Clee trumped Mark Jones’ opener for the Pilgrims, as Ben Fairclough and Spencer Weir-Daley were red-carded.

Since their victory over Boston six weeks ago, Altrincham have lost three out of four Blue Square Bet North contests, as well as crashing out of the FA Trophy to FC Halifax Town.

The Pilgrims will be aiming to bounce back from their own FA Trophy exit at the hands of Skelmersdale United on Tuesday evening.

Manager Jason Lee has admitted that changes could be made after expressing his dissatisfaction with United’s display in midweek.

Lee expects to have a full squad to choose from for the visit of Lee Sinnott’s Robins.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 1-1.

Fancy a flutter? Blue Square Bet have priced the Pilgrims at 6/4, with Altrincham priced 11/8 and the draw on offer at 12/5.

BLUE SQUARE ODDS: Boston United v Altrincham.

Saturday’s match referee is Simon Barrow.
